Met Eireann have predicted that temperatures will plunge to freezing very soon.

It has been a mild November so far, with temperatures usually around the mid teens across the country.

However, a wintry chill is about to arrive so be sure to wrap up warm.

Temperatures will fall to zero degrees this week, which comes amid reports of snow arriving across the UK and Ireland very soon.

In their overview for the week ahead, Met Eireann wrote: "A good deal of dry weather this week, though cloud cover will increase with patches of rain and drizzle at times. However, rainfall amounts will be minimal. Temperatures will be close to normal."

Looking ahead, WX Charts, a weather forecasting website, spotted the first patch of snow that will arrive in Ireland.

Their latest weather models showed a small area along the east coast of Leinster getting snow on Tuesday, 19 November. At the same time, our neighbours in Scotland and Wales are also predicted to get snow.

It should be noted that weather forecasts and predictions exceeding 10 days are much less accurate.

Here's everything you need to know about Met Eireann's weather forecast for the next few days.
