Banish burnt food and grime from your oven in minutes with this helpful hack.

Unless you keep on top of all the cleaning jobs throughout your home, there are bound to be some areas that you just don't think of cleaning until they get too dirty to ignore. For most of us, one of those areas is the oven. We don't look inside the appliance until we're using it for cooking, so the dirt can go unnoticed as it's usually out of sight, out of mind.

However, the inside of your oven can get very dirty very quickly. It's an appliance used to cook food, and as such, it comes into contact with a lot of oils, grease, and food debris that can become welded to the bottom over time.

The problem with ignoring your oven for too long is that the grease and dirt can become impossible to clean, as they become stuck to the surface of the appliance, and no amount of scrubbing will budge them.

But there is one thing you can do. Cleaning fans have claimed there's a simple way to get your oven sparkling clean again - and it involves one item you already have in your kitchen cupboard.

In a post on Reddit, one person asked for advice on cleaning their oven as they showed the inside of the appliance's door covered in thick grime. They explained they recently moved into a new place, and the previous owners left the oven in a state and asked how they could restore it to its former glory.

It wasn't long before commenters on the post began sharing a variety of useful tips - with several recommending a £1.50 cleaning product that "works wonders" when used alongside a common kitchen item.

The suggested method? Combine Pink Stuff Paste with a scrunched-up piece of kitchen foil.

One individual remarked: "Apply The Pink Stuff with a piece of aluminium foil balled up. I just did this and was shocked at how easy it was. I balled up some foil, dipped it into the small container of The Pink Stuff and then scrubbed the oven, and it immediately came off. Then I did a quick wipe down with a soapy sponge, and then a paper towel, and my oven has never looked this clean."

Another concurred with the advice, saying: " The BEST thing for this is the pink stuff and use a ball of aluminium foil to apply it! It works like a charm."

The Pink Stuff is available in supermarkets for about £1.50 per tub, and chances are you already have some aluminium foil in your kitchen drawers.

Other recommendations from people included using a pumice stone for scrubbing the problem area or carefully employing a "one-sided razor blade" to chip away at the buildup. Additionally, another person contributed: "If you cover in oven cleaner, then cover the foam (from the oven cleaner) with cling wrap! Look it up on Google. It works wonders! Good luck!"
