Motorcyclist airlifted to hospital after serious crash in Devon

The road was shut for four hours

A motorcyclist was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after a crash in Devon this morning (Thursday, October 10). The crash, which involved a motorbike and a car, took place near the rural village of Spreyton, just north of Dartmoor, at around 7.50am.

Emergency services rushed to the scene and a road closure was put in place between Two Post Cross and South Langaton Bridge. The male motorcyclist was treated at the scene before being flown to Derriford Hospital.

The road reopened by 11.50am and traffic returned to normal. Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police were called at 7.50am today, 10 October, following a serious collision at Spreyton.

"The collision between a motorcycle and a car happened on the road between Two Post Cross and South Langaton Bridge. The male motorcyclist sustained serious injuries and was treated at the scene by paramedics.

"He has been flown to Derriford Hospital by air ambulance. The road was closed by police and reopened at 11.50am."
