Barnstaple company donates £5,000 to help local kids with life-threatening illnesses

by · DevonLive

Barnstaple business, Turnstyle Designs, has nominated Care for Kids North Devon to receive a donation of £5,000 to support its work.

This will be enough to support five local families who come to the charity for help. Care for Kids provides instant grants of £1,000 to families who have a child diagnosed with a life threatening illness or condition. These grants help families pay for the unexpected costs of travel to specialist appointments outside the area and loss of earnings whilst caring for a very poorly child.

This is the second time Turnstyle Designs has chosen Care for Kids to receive a donation, having given the charity £2,500 in 2022. The company makes several large donations to charities throughout the year and has handed over the selection process to its staff members.

Steve Snellgrove, Production Supervisor from Turnstyle Designs says: “After having my daughter and starting my own family, it hit me how important charities like Care for Kids are. I can’t imagine the stress these families have to go through trying to support an ill child. Care For Kids help to alleviate that stress, allowing families to focus on what really matters.”

Care for Kids Manager, Jacky Massos, says: “We are so grateful to Turnstyle Designs and to Steve Snellgrove, who chose Care for Kids to receive £5,000. As a small charity, donations of any size are appreciated, but big donations like this are just fantastic! But it’s the families we support who will appreciate this donation the most, so thank you.”
