Dianne Buswell's dad sends emotional message during Strictly Come Dancing
by Abbie Bray · DevonLiveStrictly Come Dancing was brought to a standstill on Saturday night as Tess Daly allowed Dianne Buswell's father to deliver a heartfelt message to his daughter. The host initiated the touching moment by saying, "Now, since week three, Chris and Dianne have had one goal - to dance live in front of Dianne's parents."
She continued, "Mark and Rina, here they are all the way from Australia, it is so lovely to see you. On behalf of all of us, the warmest welcome to you."
Tess added, "I mean we all feel like family at this point, we really do. I know you have waited seven years for this to see Dianne live."
She then asked Mark to announce the next dance, to which he read out: "Dancing the Paso Doble, here is Chris and our Dianne."
Following the performance by Dianne and Chris McCausland, Mark was visibly emotional, reports the Mirror.
As Tess went to speak with the dancing pair, she noted: "Mark is crying, don't make me cry, Mark."
When it came time for the judges' feedback, Craig Revel Horwood described the performance as "wonderful" but noted it "lacked the Spanish fare of this dance."
He added: "I could see you going for it, however, knees were a little bit too high and you need a straight leg, but wow, strength of character there, that was a really solid performance."
Motsi Mabuse praised them, saying: "I think this is what Strictly is about, it is such a beautiful gesture doing this for Dianne and this moment and you are sharing this together and it's absolutely beautiful."
However, she did note that "in some places it was wrong," prompting Shirley Ballas to interject and ask "Where? ".
The head judge praised Dianne's performance, expressing she was "very impressed" and remarked "there wasn't a step out of place". Chris and Dianne earned themselves a notable 33 points from the judges come scoring time.
On Sunday night, the spotlight falls on another celebrity as they face elimination from the venture after the tension-filled dance-off. Bookies have cast their predictions pointing towards Pete Wicks and Jowita Przystal as potential candidates for this weekend's departure.
