Wynne Evans breaks silence after pulling out of Strictly Come Dancing interview
by Kate Wilson, Olivia Wheeler · DevonLiveWynne Evans has given fans a fresh update after unexpectedly withdrawing from his scheduled appearance on 'Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two' Wednesday night.
On the evening of November 13, audiences were gearing up to watch Wynne, aged 52, alongside his dance partner Katya Jones on the beloved BBC programme. Yet, shortly after the show began, presenter Janette Manrara had to relay to viewers that, contrary to previous announcements, they would not be joining the episode.
Despite assurances from Fleur East that Wynne was set to feature on 'It Takes Two' that Wednesday, plans evidently shifted at the eleventh hour.
Explaining the situation to the audience, Janette remarked: "If you've got any questions like, 'Why are Chris and Dianne on when yesterday we said it was going to be Wynne and Katya? ' It's live TV, guys. You've got to roll with it, alright? Just roll with it."
Later that Wednesday evening, Wynne took to his Instagram to post an enigmatic picture taken in Blackpool - the upcoming location for Strictly's special episode at the famous Blackpool Tower Ballroom - indicating an update, reports Wales Online.
Captioning the update with a concise "We're in town", the Welsh opera singer tagged both Strictly and Katya, whose echo of the Story on her profile seemed to signal all was well.
Wynne's Sunday night saw him face the tension of the dreaded dance-off for the first time against competitor Shayne Ward, leaving the judges distinctly split over the decision of who should remain in the competition.
Judges Craig Revel Horwood and Motsi Mabuse cast their votes in favour of Shayne, while Anton Du Beke showed his support for Wynne. Consequently, the decisive vote fell upon head judge Shirley Ballas.
After careful consideration, she chose to save Wynne and his partner Katya, thus concluding Shayne's journey on the show with his professional dance partner Nancy Xu.
Reflecting on his experience, Shayne expressed: "I just want to say, you guys up there [the other contestants] are a dream. Every single day, coming in here and seeing you guys you helped me so much."
Shayne also conveyed his gratitude towards the show's audience for their unwavering support, stating: "I want to say thank you to the audience as well for always being amazing for us all. This has been, honestly, one of the best things I've ever done."
