A Devon couple are on cloud nine and planning a thrilling holiday to Las Vegas after scooping up £300,000 on a National Lottery scratchcard. Robert Kittle, 58, alongside his partner Julie Goodwin, 63, recalled the "surreal" moment he uncovered the winning symbols.

The pair, from Plymouth, plan to splurge some of their winnings on securing their fantasy jaunt to Las Vegas, a destination that's long been on their bucket list. The pair have their sights set on whisking away Julie's two daughters and their families for an unforgettable getaway next year.

Construction worker Robert shared: "We have talked about going to Las Vegas for a long time and it's been a dream of ours to go together, so being able to make it a reality is amazing. We never thought we'd get to go but to be able to take our family is an incredible feeling and we can't wait to make those memories all together."

He recalled the thrilling winning moment, saying: "I nipped to the shops to pick up a newspaper, but they didn't have any left when I saw the scratchcards I thought, 'why not?'

"I honestly just couldn't believe it when I started scratching off the symbols and saw that I had won...I checked it over and over, and even got my family members to double check before we realised that we'd won such a huge amount. It was very surreal seeing that amount of money in front of me!"

Robert and Julie have seven children, 20 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren between them, are now taking some time to think about how else they would like to treat themselves and their family following their win.

“As well as being able to treat our family, we’re looking forward to being able to enjoy some financial security in the future and have some of the stress of money taken away – it still doesn’t feel real!”
