TV star Ruth Langsford has been enjoying the great outdoors, opting for Mother Nature's remedies after her recent surprising split announcement. This weekend, the Loose Women favourite donned her all weather coat as she embarked on a leisurely stroll in the park.

Beaming from under her cosy jacket, Ruth took her dog Maggie along for company on the brisk jaunt. In the wake of parting ways with husband Eamonn Holmes, 64, custody of the family pooch has been a sticking point.

Ruth took to Instagram Stories over the weekend, sharing a snapshot with Maggie captioned: "Walking in the rain with the one I love!"

The twosome's bonding carried into Sunday as well, Ruth posted joyful scenes of Maggie jaunting along on a leash. Added to her story, the caption read: "She's sprightly today!" paired with a playful "Autumn walk."

Ruth's fashion choices, including adorning Maggie in similar attire, reflect their close bond. Clearing up inquiries from followers about her coat, she corrected an earlier post, pointing out: "Lots of you asking about my coat... I put the wrong tag yesterday. It's from @wearedrybones. Super warm, super cool and waterproof! Maggie's got one too!"

In May, shockwaves were sent through the fanbase of Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes as the news broke of their intention to end their 14-year marriage. A statement released by their representative confirmed: "Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing."

The fallout of their split took a turn involving their pet dog, with reports of a custody dispute emerging, reports the Mirror.

An inside source informed The Sun: "Maggie is like a daughter to them. They dote on her. But she's getting on and they know she needs stability.

"It's a case of who can give her that. Eamonn adores her and Maggie's been such a support during his health woes. The thought of giving her up is heartbreaking to him. But if Ruth is able to get out and about and walk her more, then it may well be that she gets Maggie in the split.

"They are adamant this won't come to what Ant and Lisa went through and they won't be getting lawyers involved."

Outside of the turmoil concerning their canine companion, Ruth and Eamonn are actual parents to their 22 year old son, Jack. Before the marital troubles came to light, Eamonn had joked about his place in his wife's heart being second to their dog, quipping: "I genuinely have never experienced affection like it."
