Ted Cruz is apparently losing it.

As you all very well know, gas prices are outta control.

According to AAA, the national average is $4.459!

Soooo, ol' Ted Cruz decided to jump on X to brag about filling up his tank for $3.99 a gallon: "Just filled my tank. In Texas, gas is $3.99 a gallon. Hey Gavin—the problem isn’t Chevron, it’s California’s stupid energy policies…."

Yeah, so that post didn't go over quite the way he planned.

The internet immediately responded with people pointing out the obvious: "Ted Cruz is actually bragging about $4 gas."

Another person noted just how out of touch it sounded, "Our politicians are so utterly stupid that they're currently boasting 3.99 gas. I've never seen people so disconnected from reality in my life."

And a bunch of others couldn't help but laugh at the framing of it all, "Very funny to pretend this is cheap."

Let's be real: "3.99 is a lot Ted."

But the internet wasn't done yet.

For anyone who can't read the screenshot, Cruz previously complained: "This isn’t just the most expensive Thanksgiving meal to date – Americans will also pay the most at the pump. Gas will cost $3.68 – 20 cents more per gallon than last year."
