Over 9.4 Million People Have Viewed This Divisive Clip From Kylie Jenner’s Latest Vlog, And It’s Sparked A Major Debate About Her Extravagant Lifestyle
As you may have seen, Kylie Jenner has been posting YouTube vlogs that show off her everyday life as a 29-year-old mom, business owner, and multi-millionaire.
She was soon joined by Victoria Villarroel and Anastasia Karanikolaou, both of whom were looking comfy in sweats. (There may have been more friends in attendance, but they weren't filmed.)
If you've ever wondered what it's like to rent out a movie theater, well, it looks like you can chat and giggle without worrying about annoying other people. Kylie filmed herself and Stass cozied up in the dark, enjoying some candy before the movie started.
To me, this seems like pretty normal, inoffensive rich-people behavior. However, Kylie's decision to rent out an entire theater has sparked a divide online, with some seemingly feeling that it's an act of snobbery.
One X account posted a snippet of the cinema trip vlog, saying that it "shows how she has to rent out entire movie theaters" in LA "because of how famous she is." At the time of writing, this particular clip has been viewed over 9.4 million times.
"Or she could just wear a hat and dress like a normal person for one night," one user said in response, amassing over 44,000 likes and 1.5 million views. Another user wrote that there's "a sadness" to Kylie renting out a theater, while someone else called it "an empty way to live."
Lots of people also pointed out that plenty of other celebrities attend public movie screenings just fine. "She could go incognito if she wanted to," one user suggested.

"Christopher Nolan is a regular at the AMC CityWalk. Kristen Stewart and Jack Black are so ubiquitous in my neighborhood you don’t even bother telling a friend you saw them anymore," another user wrote. "I assure you no one gives a shit if this lady is in their theater."

Now, it's worth noting that Kylie doesn't say at any point in the video that she has to rent out a theater to watch movies on the big screen. Instead, it seems like something she and her friends just enjoy doing. And if that is the case, is this still such an issue?
Whether the private screening is a necessity or not, other fans also highlighted that there could be a safety aspect, too. Let's not forget that the Kardashian/Jenners have upped their security in the past decade since Kim's 2016 robbery in Paris. Kylie, in particular, has been granted multiplerestraining orders against alleged stalkers, and in a 2025 episode of The Kardashians, she expressed paranoia regarding her safety after Kim was targeted in a murder plot.
IMO, I think people are kind of overreacting about this. If she were filming a vlog with her friends at a public movie screening, she'd no doubt get backlash for that, too — so it looks like she can't win.
