Uhhh, here's an *interesting* one.
@jaredshult asked on Threads for liberals to name one thing they admire about Republicans.
Here's what people said:
1. "The ability to connect with their base and persuade them to get out and vote consistently."
2. "Being able to put the blinders on even when their house is on fire."
3. "Their belief system is very fluid. Like, really malleable depending on the circumstances, direction of the wind & day of the week."
4. "In all sincerity I'm glad we don't have pennies any more."
5. "Their ability to elect presidents."
6. "The ability to declare they have two sacred texts (the Bible and the constitution) but to live their lives entirely unencumbered by the principles and values enumerated in either."
7. "John McCain was and Mitt Romney and W are good husbands, dads, and grandparents."
8. "I’m jealous of their carefree attitudes, it must be great for your stress level to truly not care about a single person besides yourself."
9. "There is no group better at moving the goalposts."
10. "Uh… I guess it all comes down to their ability to stick together. That’s about it."
11. "I’m in awe of how they can twist themselves into pretzels in order to believe everything they are being fed even if it goes against common sense."
— tkpegues
12. "The ability to create their own reality and firmly live it in."
13. "They probably sleep better not having a conscience or empathy."
14. "MAGA Republicans? Absolutely nothing. Regular Republicans? When they stand up to MAGA."
15. "Their ability to rally behind someone regardless of how perfect they are."
16. "Their cognitive dissonance really is impressive."
17. "Being totally unburdened by facts and science. Quite jealous actually, I wish my ignorance provided me that level of happiness."
18. "What id give to not have pattern recognition 😅"
19. "They’re fun to laugh at 🤷🏽♂️"
20. "Their long game. They know how to band together, plot the destruction of society, and then enact it."
21. "15 or 20 years ago I'd have said 'their idea about being fiscally responsible'. Now, the whole, I'm sorry to say, cult behaviour overrides everything."
22. "They will sacrifice anything to own the libs. V determined."
— caitjenn
23. "They unfortunately are really good at getting their agendas passed."
24. And lastly, "Their commitment to the bit."
