I Tried Both Of Slice's New Dirty Soda Flavors — Here Are My Honest Thoughts

Even if you've never laid eyes on Hulu's hit reality series, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, there's a good chance you've heard about one of the show's cultural crazes: dirty sodas. On the off chance you're new to the trend, a dirty soda is comprised of three basic elements: soda, syrup, and cream, and it's seen as a fitting substitute for coffee and alcohol, which members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are forbidden to drink.
Dirty sodas have skyrocketed in popularity since the show's 2024 debut, and the trend is only rising. Swig, a shop specializing in dirty sodas, has opened locations across the country, and creators on TikTok have gone wild DIY-ing their own versions of the drink. And now, some of your favorite canned soda companies are already capitalizing on the trend. Enter: Slice's Dirty Soda line, which is heading to market with strawberry and orange flavors available.
Convenience? Check. Probiotics? Check. And, in my opinion, the most exciting thing about these cans is that each only has 4 grams of sugar.
I was excited to try these ready-to-drink dirty sodas and see if they lived up to the hype of the real deal. I received advance samples of the line and evaluated them based on their carbonation levels, sweetness, creaminess, and how well each flavor comes through.
For each category, I gave a score out of 10, with 1 indicating that the soda did not perform well in that category, and 10 indicating a perfect performance. So, a 10/10 rating in the "sweetness" category would indicate a perfect level of sweetness, aka a product that is neither too sweet nor not sweet enough.
The Taste Test
🍊 Orange Dirty Soda — The suggested retail price for Slice's Orange Dirty Soda is $2.29. Each can contains 60 calories with 4 grams of sugar, 4 grams of fat, and 11 grams of total carbs, plus plenty of prebiotics, probiotics, and postbiotics.
There's no denying the absolutely gorgeous appearance of Slice's Orange Dirty Soda when it's poured into a glass. I'm not sure I could drink this out of the can if I wanted to — it's too pretty to be confined to an opaque container.
With a decidedly creamsicle appearance, I was excited to dive into this tasting. Creamsicle freezer pops are one of my favorite old-school desserts, and the above had my mouth watering instantaneously.
I'm happy to report that this soda definitely tastes like a creamsicle. I'm not as happy to report that the flavor could have been stronger. That said, it gives a nostalgic twist to your typical orange soda, and I'd choose this over its non-creamy bedfellow any day. It's perfectly carbonated for my taste (though I will say, I prefer gentle rather than strong carbonation), and it isn't at all too sweet.

🍓 Strawberry Dirty Soda — Slice's Strawberry Dirty Soda also has a suggested retail price of $2.29. This can has 50 calories with 4 grams of sugar, 1.5 grams of fat, 11 grams of total carbs and, again, plenty of prebiotics, probiotics, and postbiotics.
If I was transfixed by the appearance of the Orange Dirty Soda, then the Strawberry flavor had me completely mesmerized. And the smell upon opening the can? I can't adequately describe it; it smelled like a sweet berry candy in the best way.
All of which is to say, I couldn't wait to dig in.
To put it simply: Mind. Blown. I'm not sure how Slice got this Strawberry Dirty Soda to taste this creamy and this much like strawberries, but somehow, they've managed to (and personally, I'm forever grateful). This flavor has a similarly gentle effervescence to the orange, but I found it much punchier. Once again, it boasted a very well-balanced sweetness and was just sweet enough to satisfy without being overly saccharine.
