Is there a support group for those who have been affected, directly or indirectly, by the Wicked press tour? There probably should be!

One of the many bizarre things we've bore witness to is Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande getting really emotional during interviews. It happened so frequently that Entertainment Tonight put together a whole-ass compilation of every emotional moment. You can watch it below:

You wouldn't be blamed for wondering what, exactly, is going on with all the tears — and Ethan Slater, Wicked co-star (and, of course, Ariana's current beau), recently gave a possible explanation in an interview with TODAY.

“They’re so funny,” he said regarding his co-stars' behavior. “They’re both like, after a full day of junkets, ‘Well, we cried 100 times again. Everyone must be getting so annoyed.’"

Ethan went on to say that the emotional outpouring comes from "a really genuine place." “I think it’s an emotional process to dive into characters who go through such a journey,” he added.

“It’s been a really long and intense process. When you do that, you really bond with the people you’re around.”

Ethan also described Ariana and Cynthia as "soul mates." “Their friendship is really real and really deep and really informed by the work that they did together," he added.

"I think they’re getting to talk about and getting to reflect on it while they’re still in the midst of it."

There you have it! Perhaps you've seen Wicked this weekend and had an emotional reaction of your own — and if you have, we'd love to hear about it in the comments.
