Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's extravagant wedding at New York City's famed Madison Square Garden venue has generated tons of chatter — and it doesn't seem to be letting up any time soon.

By now, you're well aware that the guest list for the wedding itself was massive — we're talking an alleged1,000 people invited to ring in the occasion with Taylor and Travis.

Amidst all the hubbub, Taylor's appearance on The Graham Norton Show last year has resurfaced, in which she spelled it out very far in advance that she planned on inviting pretty much everyone she's ever met to the occasion.
“I know it’s going to be fun to plan," she said, "because I think the only stressful weddings are the ones where you have a small amount, and people are on the bubble. Right?"

"And you have to evaluate or assess your relationship with them to see if they should be there. I’m not gonna do that."

“It’s like, ‘We had to have hung out eight times?’ It's like, ‘You’re on the bubble. We’ve hung out five times,’" she went on to say. "It’s going to be fun. I shouldn’t have said any of that.”

Clearly, Taylor telegraphed her intentions for the massive wedding from the very beginning — but the gargantuan guest list also has people questioning whether allegedly inviting 1,000 people to your wedding is a sign of how many people you're friends with, or just how alone you actually are in the end.
"that wedding guestlist reeks of i don’t have any close friends so let me just invite anyone i’ve ever crossed paths with," a commenter wrote on Twitter. "some of these people must have been baffled to get an invite."

A commenter replied that "MSG is huge & you would have to have a lot of friends to fill it...you must be very naive if you think someone that rich is only inviting their friends & not literally just anyone who has enough status."

But people also came out to defend Taylor's decision to invite so many people. "Taylor swift has been crucified since the dawn of time for having a lot of friends," one person wrote. "it’s never not been odd to me. Have you ever stopped to think maybe she’s just a very likeable person."
Twitter
"they used to criticize taylor for having too many friends and now they're saying she has no friends," another person wrote. "so which one is it?"

One thing's for sure: I think we're all getting very close to the point where we're thinking too much about Taylor Swift's wedding. That's just my opinion, though!
