If you don't recall, Kristen is a celebrity mom who hides her children's faces on social media. The Frozen star shares two kids, Lincoln, 13, and Delta, 11, with her husband, Dax Shepard.

In an Oct. 22 interview with Bustle, Kristen talked about her marriage and life as a mother and said that even though she's rich and famous, her life at home is still "hard" for her.

“It’s hard. Do not think because I am on your television that it is easy for me,” she said. “It’s brutal. I cry weekly.”

Bell noted that she likes to be open with her fans, which can be mutually beneficial. “Oftentimes when you’re in that cyclone of puberty, you could think, My kid is the only one doing this. And that is just simply not a fact," she said.

However, she said it's become increasingly hard to be open as her children have gotten older. “It’s always a debate between Kantianism and utilitarianism,” she said.

"For the good of the people, we should share our dirty stories; we should share our shame; we should share our hardships. But for the good of the one? My main job in life is to protect those two."

Dax, who also gave his two cents in the interview, noted that he's in awe of his wife. He called her “a boss" and "a force of nature to be reckoned with." He joked that Kristen is "not afraid of the gorilla she lives with.”

As for Kristen, she said she considers her family every time she books a gig. “Is this going to pull me away from my kids too much? Will I still be able to be the mom that I want to be? That’s really the No. 1, to be honest. There’s nothing higher than that,” she said.

“I would easily let my whole career and all its legacy and notoriety ‘disapparate’ tomorrow if it meant sacrificing something major in my kids’ lives, or not being there.”

On social media, people reacted to Kristen's comments about her "brutal" life at home, with many expressing the view that she needs to be more grateful for what she has.

One user asked if she had considered how her life may be "easier than 99.999%" of other people's lives.

"I can't imagine this being my biggest problem," chimed in another.

However, Kristen is right to consider what her children might think about the tales she chooses to share. In fact, she is known for not holding back when it comes to sharing details about her relationship and co-parenting with her husband, Dax.

There was the time she caught strays for admitting she and Dax "role play" apologies to each other in front of their children.

"Every time we're testy with each other, the next morning I'll say, 'Good morning, Daddy — I just wanted to say, last night, I had a really long day, and I'm sorry that I snapped at you about, you know, not having the dinner that you wanted.' And he would say, "Yeah, Mommy, you're right, I had a hard day too, and I'm really sorry." And then we physically kiss and hug."

And the time she admitted they swear in front of their children (while letting them know that they can't).

"We don't limit ourselves as much as we should at home," she explained. "The way we explain it is, 'Look, you're 5 years old. You can't drive my car. You can't vote. You can't drink alcohol. You can't swear.' So far, they've obliged."

And the recent time on Dax’s Armchair Expert podcast, where he revealed that he thinks it's OK for their children to curse and be disrespectful towards adults.

“They do talk back, and they are not respectful,” he said in November 2025. “I can understand where that seems completely unruly, but I want you to know what I'm prioritizing: when they're 19 and their boss is a f*****g creep, I want them to talk back.”

So it makes sense that Kristen and Dax are considering keeping their family lives out of the public spotlight. Will they stick to it? We'll have to wait and see.
