Remember the "Lake America" thing?

And remember how Google Maps started calling it "Lake America"?

Apple eventually did it too.

But you know who became the face of the map resistance??? MapQuest.

@mapquest/threads.com

They posted on social media: "We are aware that Lake Ontario is being correctly labeled on our map."

And they REALLY leaned into it:

Well, apparently Trump wasn't done renaming things, because now he's coming for New Mexico.

He posted on Truth Social, "New Mexico should immediately change its name to New America. We are not Mexico, we are the United States of America! The name would add great value and prestige to the State!"

People obviously had some questions about that logic...

@jmsand3/threads.com

"Wait until he finds out that the US is also not called York or Jersey," one person wrote.

Other people called out the elephant in the room.

@seanbartleymusic/threads.com

"A president that is sane does not yell about renaming New Mexico at any time."

But MapQuest had a simple two-word response:

And if it wasn't already clear where they stood, they doubled down in the comments:

MapQuest, never change. Except, you know, going digital. That was probably a good move!!
