TMZ recently caught the congressperson on Capital Hill — which, honestly, is a wild sentence to type, if only because I haven't gotten totally used to the fact that TMZ now has a base of operations in Washington, D.C. Then again, you have to wonder what took them so long!

OK, sorry for getting off-track — so, TMZ straight-up asked AOC if she ever thinks we'll ever have a gay president. Which, pretty interesting question, sure. But it was her answer that really got to the fact of the matter when it comes to the long (like, since the dawn of time) history of sexual identity.

"Well, we don’t know if we already had a gay president, to be honest with you," she replied. "I think there are chances that maybe we have, but I don't know."

I'd say there's a very good chance we already have! I'm going to keep it real with you — normally, this is where I'd share some comments from people online, but a lot of the chatter around this one seems to be tinged with various levels of anti-gay sentiment, which obviously sucks. It shouldn't be treated a scandal if past, present, or future US presidents are gay! In fact, it'd be quite normal if any or all of them were.
