OK, let's get serious for a second: Obviously, there was a shooting outside the ballroom of the White House Correspondents' Dinner over the weekend. Harrowing stuff, for sure (and I'm not being sarcastic!) — and conservative types are venting their emotions about the situation in ways that seem misdirected.

Earlier today, Melania Trump called for Jimmy Kimmel to be taken off the air again after he made some jokes about her during his "Alternative White House Correspondents' Dinner" speech that aired last Thursday night — two whole nights before the shooting itself — on Jimmy Kimmel Live!.

Now, Patricia has entered the fray with a very familiar-sounding complaint from the right — specifically, that the shooting itself was the result of criticism that the Trump administration has (very deservedly, obviously!) faced over the years.

"I wasn't happy when Clinton, Obama or Biden won, but I didn't call them fascist/dangerous/threat to democracy," she wrote on Twitter. "I didn't hope someone would assassinate them. I went on with my life with gratitude. Friends on the left, please try this. Your life and our country will be better."
