This TikToker Is Going Viral For Sharing The 1 Thing That Took Him From Getting 0 Job Interviews To 13 In 1 Week, And Whatever You're Expecting It To Be, I PROMISE You're Wrong

The job market sucks. Plain and simple. It seems like struggling to get a job for months, sometimes years, on end is just the new rite of passage for freshly graduated young adults. And that — and I can't emphasize this enough — totally sucks!
Young people are doing everything they can to try to boost their prospects in the job market. They're paying for LinkedIn Premium. They're stalking hiring managers on social media. The Wall Street Journal recently reported that a new Princeton PhD grad even applied to over 2,300 jobs to no avail.
TikToker William Rath is trying something different. He hired an Etsy witch.
(If you've never heard of Etsy witches, the short explanation is that they're witches who sell spells and readings on the online marketplace platform, Etsy.)
Like many others, William is a twentysomething — 27, to be exact — struggling in the current job market. The recent law graduate says he's been on the job hunt, applying but rarely hearing back, for the past year and a half.
He's done all the things you're supposed to do — logging hours on LinkedIn; applying to dozens of jobs daily; expanding the region he's willing to work in; broadening the kinds of jobs he's looking for. Still, no dice.
William has amassed millions of views over the past year and a half while documenting this long, arduous job-application journey on TikTok. In one of his recent videos lamenting the seemingly never-ending job search, a user commented, "ask an etsy witch to grant you a job atp."
"A lot of my followers have always joked and said things like, 'Time to get an Etsy witch...' and I would just be like, 'Yeah, OK, sure,'" he told BuzzFeed. "But the video I posted about getting an Etsy witch gained a lot of traction, so I'm like, screw it, why not hire one."
An Etsy witch, @MysticTarotGuidee, reached out to William and offered him a free reading in exchange for a video. He agreed.
William's reading was long and given through TikTok DMs. The main points communicated were that he would have a job by the end of the year and that it would combine his law and marketing backgrounds.
The next day, William posted that he got a job interview. Then, the day after that, he got another one. Within that first week after he hired his Etsy witch, William had nine first-round job interviews, a handful of second-round interviews, and a couple that made it to the final round.
Within 10 days of hiring an Etsy witch, William had 13 job interviews.
"I've had more interviews this week than I've had my entire unemployment phase for over a year," William said in a video.
To be clear, he got a few rejections sprinkled in there, too.
