Celeb relationships are notoriously entertaining — especially those on-again, off-again couples. It's like a constant guessing game of whether they're together or not, which is fun for the average chronically online zillennial!

So because knowledge is power, here are 13 celeb couples we're fairly certain broke up and got back together at least once — and whether they're still together today, to our knowledge:

1. Sabrina Carpenter and Barry Keoghan

THE DEETS: Nothing has been confirmed by these two themselves, but rumours started swirling that they broke up about a year after first being seen together in late 2023. In August 2024, a source told People that they're actually "on and off." Plus, Sabrina's song "Please Please Please" alludes to her being embarrassed by a romantic partner the internet assumes is Barry. 

STILL TOGETHER? Yep! Barry recently commented on an Instagram pic of Sabrina sipping a drink, and he said "Slide 3 Im the cup." Charming and hilarious.

2. Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck

THE DEETS: These two go way back. They initially got engaged in 2002, but called it quits in 2004 after postponing their wedding the year before. Then, in 2021, they got back together. J.Lo and Ben got engaged again in April 2022 and married two months later.

STILL TOGETHER? Nope. I'm sure you're aware they're getting a divorce. The news came out on August 20 of this year.

3. Taylor Swift and Jake Gyllenhaal

4. Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth

THE DEETS: These two started dating way back in 2009 during filming for The Last Song, and broke up in 2010. But they got back together only one month later, and broke up a second time two months after that, in November 2010. 

And then! Miley and Liam surprised us all by getting engaged in 2012, and called it off in 2013 after months of rumours. Fast forward a couple years, and they got engaged AGAIN in 2016 before getting married in 2018. Finally, they got divorced in 2019.

STILL TOGETHER? LOL, NO. Just listen to "Flowers," which Miley allegedly wrote about Liam — she's absolutely winning on her own, from the sounds of things, they're definitely done for good.

5. Cardi B and Offset

THE DEETS: Buckle up for this one. We're pretty sure these two got together around 2016, but they kept it low-key for awhile before Cardi confirmed she was single in 2017. So people assumed they broke it off at that point. They got engaged that same year, though, before cheating allegations on Offset spread in December 2017. 

It gets a bit confusing from here, though... in 2018, we weren't sure where they stood. But we do know they ended things again in 2018, then got back together, then Cardi filed for divorce in 2020, then called off the divorce and gave birth to their second child. They were together for awhile (amidst more cheating rumours), and we learned Cardi was again single in 2023. We think they got back together earlier in 2024, before filing for divorce yet again this summer (and revealing she was pregnant with their third child just one day later).

STILL TOGETHER? No, quite the opposite. They've both really called each other out recently, both publicly dissing the other.

6. Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott

THE DEETS: We first saw these two publicly linked in April 2017, and they got pregnant later that same year. They had their first child, Stormi, in 2018. In 2019, cheating allegations against Travis swirled online, and they announced they'd be taking a break a few months later. 

After a couple years of being spotted with other people, and questions of where their relationship stood, they announced they were expecting again in 2021, and we got the news that they broke up for good in 2023.

STILL TOGETHER? No, but they're apparently super civil as they co-parent their two kids.

7. Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green

THE DEETS: These two met in 2004 and got engaged two years later. After calling off the engagement, they pulled an uno reverse and got engaged a second time in June 2010. They got married just eight days after this engagement, then had their first child together in 2012, and their second child in 2014. 

But here's where things get even messier. Megan filed for divorce from Brian in 2015 and, after being split up for just under a year, they started hanging out again and got pregnant again in 2016. They filed for divorce again in 2020.

STILL TOGETHER? Not at all. Their divorce became official in 2022. Brian is now dating dancer Sharna Burgess, and Megan is potentially still with Machine Gun Kelly. Although we don't know for sure.

8. Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick

THE DEETS: Speaking of the Kardashians, how could we forget about Kourtney and Scott? Their relationship began in 2007 and they split up a year later after some cheating allegations on Scott. But they got back together and had their first child in 2009. 

They had another breakup-and-quick-makeup in 2010, had their second and third children in 2012 and 2014 respectively, and broke up a third time in 2015. Finally, they got back together in 2016, but only for a little bit.

STILL TOGETHER? Big NO on this one! Scott isn't in a relationship as far as we know, but Kourtney is of course married to Travis Barker.

9. Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez

THE DEETS: So obviously nobody forgets this, but you might not remember that these two dated on and off for a whopping 8 YEARS. Specifically, Justin and Selena started dating in 2009 and called it off in 2014, then again later that same year, from June to October 2014. And finally, they rekindled things from 2017-2018.

STILL TOGETHER? Haha, very funny. Not in the slightest. Selena is currently dating Benny Blanco, and Justin also just had a baby with his wife, Hailey Bieber!

10. Demi Lovato and Wilmer Valderrama

THE DEETS: This relationship stirred up a lot of discussion, not necessarily for being on-and-off, but mainly due to the age gap. They met when Demi was 17 and Wilmer was 29 but, according to Demi at the time, they didn't start dating until she was 18. Their relationship spanned from 2010 to 2016, but it began with an on-and-off patch from November 2010 until February 2013.

STILL TOGETHER? No. In 2022, Demi released a song called "29" (which is a banger, BTW) allegedly about the relationship. She starts the chorus with a chilling lyric: "Finally 29 / Funny, just like you were you at the time / Thought it was a teenage dream, just a fantasy / but was it yours or was it mine? 17, 29."

11. Pink and Carey Hart

THE DEETS: Pink met racer Carey Hart in 2001, and they dated for two years before splitting up. They celebrated their engagement in 2005 and got married in 2006, but broke it off again in 2008. Pink opened up about getting marriage counselling with Carey, and they were back together in 2010. 

STILL TOGETHER? Yes, and going strong! They now have 2 kids together, and they recently celebrated their 18th wedding anniversary. It's super adorable!

12. Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton

THE DEETS: Burton to this Taylor! Although you may not have been alive when this tea was piping hot, Liz and Dick might just be THE most famous celeb couple of all time. They met in 1963 and were both married to other people at the time, but starting having an affair that had the entire world in a frenzy. They both got divorced and instead married each other in 1964. 

After a tense relationship, they got divorced in 1974. But they got married a second time pretty quickly after that, and even adopted a daughter together.

STILL TOGETHER? Alas, their second marriage didn't last either, and they got divorced again in 1976. Get this, though: Liz got married a whopping EIGHT times in her life, two of those being after her relationship with Dick ended for good.

13. Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid

THE DEETS: OK, we ALL remember the scandals that surrounded this couple. But let's go through the nitty-gritty. They were first seen together in November 2015, and they were together for awhile before breakup rumours spread in June 2016. Zayn and Gigi were together for awhile after that, but they both posted breakup statements in March 2018. 

A month later they were seen kissing, although a source clarified they were not back together... but they DID get back together in mid-2018 and split up in 2019. They were together again in 2020, and had their first child that same year. But of course, the infamous conflict between Zayn and Gigi's mom Yolanda made big news in 2021, and the two had split up again.

STILL TOGETHER? As far as we know, they've been broken up and have been co-parenting their daughter since the big 2021 drama unfolded.

14. Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult

THE DEETS: I had no clue Jennifer and Nicholas even dated, let alone had an on-again, off-again relationship, but here we are! They got together in 2010 on the set of X-Men: First Class, and dated until January 2013. They started dating again later in 2023, seemingly on set for the following X-Men movie, and broke up for good in 2014.

STILL TOGETHER? No! They've worked on more X-Men movies together since and are friendly as far as we know, but their romance is definitely done. Jennifer is now married to Cooke Maroney and Nicholas now has two kids with his partner Bryana.
