NC’s Aion 2 Enters Global Early Access, Tops Steam Sales Chart

· Korea IT TimesNC’s new MMORPG Aion 2 has entered global early access, marking the company’s latest push to expand its presence in overseas gaming markets.
NC, jointly led by Kim Taek-jin and Park Byung-moo, said Aion 2 began global early access on Sept. 30 local time.
Players who purchased the game’s Founder’s Pack are eligible to participate in early access and experience the game ahead of its official launch. NC plans to officially launch Aion 2 globally on Oct. 5 following the early access period.
The global service is available through Steam and NC’s PC gaming platform PURPLE. Servers are being operated across four regions — North America, South America, Europe and Asia, including Japan.
The game supports eight languages, including English, Japanese, French, German and Spanish, to accommodate players across its global service regions.
Aion 2 generated strong interest ahead of its official launch. On Sept. 30, the game topped Steam’s global Top Sellers chart, which ranks games based on sales performance.
It also ranked No. 1 in sales in 12 countries, including the United States, France, Germany, Spain and Brazil. The game had surpassed 1.3 million registrations on Steam’s Wishlist before its release.
NC released a launch trailer to mark the start of global early access. The video showcases key features of Aion 2, including free-flight movement, aerial combat and the conflict between the Elyos and Asmodians, along with the game’s PvE and PvP content.
Free flight and aerial combat are among the core gameplay elements carried over and expanded from the original Aion. The sequel builds on the original game’s fantasy world while offering expanded combat and multiplayer content.
NC plans to use the early access period to introduce the game to global players before officially launching the title on Oct. 5.
