Tottenham’s Relegation Battle Worsen After Awoniyi’s Winner [Premier League Results]

The defeat leaves Tottenham Hotspur hovering just a point above the drop zone after another bleak afternoon, while Forest climb to 16th, now three points clear of danger.

Morgan Gibbs-White doubled the lead in the 62nd minute as he was left unmarked to convert from close range after a sharp cutback. Spurs never recovered. Awoniyi then added a third in the 87th minute to complete a damaging defeat.

It was Forest’s first Premier League win under Vitor Pereira and could prove decisive in their survival push. The defeat means that Tottenham are winless in the EPL since late December and have lost six of their last seven matches.

Pressure is mounting on interim boss Igor Tudor, who has now suffered five defeats in seven games in charge.
