Tada-U International Airport attacked by six FPV suicide drones

Tada-U International Airport in Mandalay Region was attacked by six FPV suicide drones on September 10, according to a report. The attack was reportedly intercepted by security forces before causing casualties or damage to aircraft, vehicles or the airport runway.

The attack took place in the afternoon when six FPV suicide drones, allegedly operated by joint PDF groups, targeted Tada-U International Airport and surrounding areas in Tada-U Township.

Security personnel responsible for aviation security detected the drones using air-defense systems and reportedly managed to intercept the attack using counter-drone measures.

Authorities subsequently carried out procedures to safely neutralize explosive materials found on the drones in order to prevent danger to the public.

The incident temporarily disrupted some domestic airline services. However, according to the report, there were no casualties and no damage to vehicles, aircraft or the airport runway.

The report described the deliberate targeting of the airport as an attack on civilian transportation infrastructure and claimed that such actions constitute a war crime under the Geneva Conventions and international law. Security forces are reportedly investigating to identify those responsible.
