Villages on the outskirts of Thazi Township, where the road was damaged by the landslide, are still in need of assistance due to the difficulties in transportation and the damage, sources said.

The villages in need of assistance are included in Thazi Township, but they are closer to Kalaw.

"The villages of Yay Aye Kwin, Sle Inn, Taungpwa, and Inkhaung located in Thazi Township. But they are 70 miles away from Thazi. It is closer to Kalaw. It is only 8 or 9 miles between Inkhaung and Kalaw. The situation is that the mountains have collapsed and the roads have also collapsed. The banks have collapsed. The trees, rocks, and soil have not even been cleared yet. There is only one way to go to Kalaw. There are only forests around. It rained heavily and the mountain collapsed and we were trapped. We got help later. With the help of donors who have come to help us despite the difficulty of travelling, we are currently living on food donated by them. Our plantations are also destroyed and we are in trouble. We are trying to rebuild the road. The cost of machinery is not low. The road is important and must be rebuilt. It will be convenient only with the help of donors," answered a local elder.

"They really need help. We went to those places. At present, we can only go on foot. When it rains and the mountain collapses, the whole area of the road is washed away. We see that they are digging mountain soil so that the road can be rebuilt. They are trying with the help of donors to open the road as soon as possible. The agricultural land is also damaged, so it is not easy for them to do business again. We are providing donations for the road as well and helping to rebuild the road. We provided money for the use of backhoe and fuel but they need a lot of help," said Dr. Ashin Nyana Lankara, the Presiding Sayadaw of Dharmabiman from Hinthada.

A total of 475 people from 120 households are living in Yay Aye Kwin, Sle Inn, Taungpwa, and Inkhaung villages.
