Char-Broil has just launched its latest electric barbecue, a portable, compact model that gives patio, balcony and small garden owners a convenient way to grill this summer. The Char-Broil Patio Bistro Cube E Barbecue is a small yet powerful electric grill which quickly reaches high temperatures for searing, roasting and more.
During the pandemic, I lived in a small flat with an even smaller balcony, but my teeny tiny outdoor space got me through the months of lockdown. It was just about big enough for a miniature table and chairs, but around this time was when electric barbecues got really popular.
Lucky for me, I got to test an electric barbecue during this time, and it quickly became my go-to cooking method. Like other barbecue enthusiasts, I didn’t think an electric grill could produce authentic barbecue flavours, but I was proven wrong.

For those who live in small flats and homes but still want the chance to grill, the Char-Broil Patio Bistro Cube E Barbecue is sure to solve your problems. Measuring just 47.4cm in height, 47.1cm in width and 53.6cm in diameter, this electric barbecue is small yet mighty, and its three metre cord means you can plug it in and use it anywhere.
Despite its compact size, the Char-Broil Patio Bistro Cube E Barbecue has a generous cooking capacity. Its grate has a diameter of 38.4cm and can cook for up to three people at a time.
With 1500 watts of power, the Char-Broil Patio Bistro Cube E Barbecue can reach up to a maximum temperature of 280°C in under 20 minutes. This temperature is recommended for quick grilling sessions, but the Char-Broil Patio Bistro Cube E Barbecue can reach up to 320°C for intense searing.
To lock in the temperature, the Char-Broil Patio Bistro Cube E Barbecue comes with a dome-like lead which seals in heat and flavour. It uses TRU-Infrared technology to distribute heat evenly across the grate, and the lid has an integrated analogue temperature gauge so you can monitor the heat at all times without disrupting your cooking.
