Vollebak is no stranger to clothing that sounds as if it has escaped from a science-fiction film, but its latest creation might be the brand’s most gloriously unhinged yet.
The For When All Hell Breaks Loose Jacket – shortened to FWAHBL – is a bright-yellow trench coat cut from the same material used to manufacture airtight chemical-protection suits.
Just 10 examples will be made, each costing £2,995 and currently available to pre-order, with delivery expected in September 2026.

The jacket’s fabric comes from Fothergill, a British manufacturer that has been developing protective textiles since 1847 and first supplied the British Army during the Boer War.
Its materials have subsequently been used in military helmets, body armour and vehicles.
More specifically, the coat is constructed from a woven polyester core coated on both sides with polychloroprene rubber.
Vollebak says the resulting material is engineered to resist chemicals, oils, ozone, flames and weathering.

The final composition is 82% polychloroprene and 18% polyester and, according to the brand, “100% hell-proof”.
Despite its unusual material, the FWAHBL is cut like a relatively conventional trench coat.
It has raglan sleeves, a two-piece collar, a single rear vent and concealed mini-snap fastenings.
There are also two zipped hand pockets and internally bound seams.
This is where things get very Vollebak
Naturally, Vollebak hasn’t stopped at making the jacket.
Each coat arrives inside a garment bag made from the same chemical-suit material and is presented in an elaborate box inspired by 40 years of video-game packaging.
A limited-edition comic is included, while Vollebak has also created a game-style trailer and says a playable FWAHBL video game is in development.
Although the underlying textile is used for chemical-protection suits, Vollebak says the finished jacket is designed for bad weather and “existential dread”, not genuine chemical spills.
