Brinity Meets the World

by · VULTURE

A tired, shell-shocked Brinity sat for an interview on Today this morning. In their first public appearance since winning Love Island USA season eight, the newly minted most famous people in America (and that’s only slight hyperbole) were both deeply in love and a little frazzled. “We were just in Fiji less than 20 hours ago,” Bryce Dettloff told the camera. “Coming back in, after 50 days without our phones, without any access to the outside world, it’s been unreal to see everyone’s responses. It’s been a little overwhelming, to be honest.” His girlfriend, Trinity Tatum, agreed. “It’s very overwhelming,” she said. “Anxious, a little bit. We still kind of have to get adjusted, being back in the real world.”

The two are embarking on very different lives than when they entered the Villa. Trinity, 22, who worked in a hardware store prior to the show, now has 2.8 million followers on Instagram. That’s more than last year’s breakout star, Olandria Carthen, has amassed to this day. Bryce, meanwhile, has 1.2 million. Both their counts are still growing leaps and bounds by the day.

Now that they’re in the real world and facing mountains of opportunities due to their newfound fame, even a tired Brinity seems ready to attack. “Honestly, this is my first time out of Virginia, being in L.A.,” Trinity revealed. “I definitely want to explore L.A. more and see how I like it. Virginia ain’t seeing me for too long. I definitely want to be wherever Bryce is. I don’t like being away from him for too long. I get a little separation anxiety.” Bryce mirrored her opinion, saying he doesn’t even like it when Trinity goes on errands. “You spend 24 hours with each other every day for almost 50 days,” he explained. Luckily, Bryce already lives where A-listers should be. Get ready for Brinity on magazine covers, at the Oscars and the Met Gala, and everywhere else they can go. This morning show is just the start.
