Vucic receives newly appointed Spanish ambassador's credentials

President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic today received the credentials of the newly appointed ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to the Republic of Serbia, Ander Ruiz de Gopegui Aramburu, and pointed out that Serbia's commitment is for economic cooperation to follow the level of excellent political relations between the two countries, especially when it comes to infrastructure, energy and renewable energy sources, environmental protection, agriculture and agro-industry.

"I wished a sincere welcome to the newly appointed ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain and expressed my belief that his work will contribute to the further strengthening of friendly relations and comprehensive cooperation between our two countries," Vucic said in a post on Instagram.

He pointed out that Serbia attaches great importance to the traditionally good relations with Spain.

Vucic reiterated his deep gratitude to friendly Spain for its firm and principled support for Serbia's sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as for the continuous support it provides to our country in international organizations.

"At the same time, we highly value Spain's support for Serbia's European path and look forward to its participation in EXPO 2027 in Belgrade, where, as a proven friend of Serbia and the Serb people, it will be one of our dearests guests," Vucic pointed out.

Vucic added that it would be a great honor for Serbia to host King Felipe VI in Belgrade in the coming period, whose visit would represent additional confirmation of the closeness, friendship and mutual respect between the two countries.
