'I'm a vet who'd never own certain dog breeds – one in particular is neurotic'

Vet tech Connie, who's on her way to becoming a vet, has sparked a debate online after sharing the dog breeds she'd never own.

In a TikTok video that's had over 20 million views, she captioned it: "Dog breeds I would NOT own as a veterinary technician and why."

Firstly, Connie controversially stated she'd steer clear of owning a Goldendoodle, a Golden Retriever and Poodle mix. She elaborated: "Or any doodle/poo mix. They should not exist. Some are really nice but most are bat**** crazy, neurotic psychopaths."

She slammed them as a "genetic dumpsterfire" and listed numerous potential health issues. She continued: "They're always matted or have an ear infection. People don't groom them properly."

Concluding her review with a chilling comment, she revealed: "I had a patient that was a Goldendoodle, and its medical notes read 'would kill or seriously harm a small child' because it was so aggressive."

Despite this, Pets4Homes reports that the Goldendoodle is one of the UK's most in-demand dogs in 2023, alongside French Bulldogs, boasting 995 prospective owners per pup.

Next up for criticism is the pristine white Samoyed, which Connie says comes with "a hair care routine more expensive than my own" and likens to a "feather duster that bites". The third breed she warns against is the Japanese Shiba Inu, branding it "dramatic" and unfriendly to non-family members.

Vet tech Connie stirred up a storm with her no-holds-barred views on dog breeds, fiercely stating the fourth on her list, the Beagle, barks for nothing, suffers from anal gland woes, and proves a costly pet as it lives on despite obesity and diabetes.

Mini poodles didn't dodge her criticism either, she griped about their frequent diarrhoea issues requiring fancy food. Meanwhile, the majestic Great Dane was also turned away, despite Connie's love for them; she noted: "I love you but why are you scared of everything you're literally the size of a horse."

She laid into the melancholy Basset Hounds next, labelling them a "smelly walking infection" because of their susceptibility to various ailments tied to their droopy skin and problematic glands.

Not sparing usual favourites, Connie chastised the French Bulldog for its litany of woes ranging from spinal to allergy troubles, and tendency to need surgery just to breathe, lamenting the "back problems, allergy problems, behaviour problems, usually needs surgery just to breathe. Most of you are horribly bred and absolute goblins at the vets."

Even the late Queen's most beloved breed, the Corgi, was dubbed "land sharks" by Connie, listing off their back problems, dental troubles and behavioural foibles.

And capping off her dishonour roll at number 10, despite acknowledging their allure, she ruled out German Shepherds due to her inability to give them the high level of care they require.

Two small dogs that wouldn't be invited home with her are the Pug and the Westie. Connie described Pugs as dramatic survivors, while she noted that Westies can often suffer from severe skin issues.

Next on her list is the Husky, which Connie believes should not live in hot climates due to their need for cooler temperatures and plenty of exercise. She added: "Huskies own people, people don't own Huskies."

Lastly, she mentioned the Chinese Chow Chow, revealing that she had yet to meet a friendly one, had experienced them going for her throat multiple times, and was put off by their black tongues.

Most viewers agreed with her assessments, with one user sharing: "The beagle one is soooo true. My partner's beagle was 19 and DECREPIT but would've lived out of pure spite."

Another pet owner posted: "My sisters pug is blind, deaf and we don't think he can smell anymore, and yet he persists." And a third person replied: "As a dog groomer, I agree with all of these. Gods, if I have to tell another pet parent that their doodles do, in fact, need to be brushed, I'll lose it."
