As another new school year begins, teachers across the country are attempting to commit new children's names to their memory. It has prompted one teacher to share a list of children's names that make the 'best' and 'worst' students based on her and her husband's experience in the classroom.

Taking to Reddit, she said: "My husband and I are (both) teachers. Several months ago, we had a discussion about what to name our child. As we brainstormed possible names, the conversation turned into a discussion of kids we have taught in our past that either enhanced the name (one we might name our child) or completely destroyed the name (one we go no way)."

Starting with the 'best' names, the teacher says she has never encountered a problem teaching an Olivia, saying they're "super smart and high achievers". Speaking of the name, she added: "They are talkative but will get their work done. They're quick learners and charming."

For boys, she says every Anthony she has taught has been "super chill, very kind, and tend to work hard". She added: "They don't cause problems in class and will sit down and get their work done." But she didn't hold back when sharing her 'worst' list, saying: "Isabella/Annabella/any name with a 'bella' - low achievers, have zero interest in school and are glued to their phones/socials. I have not met one who works hard and achieves good marks.

Teachers, what student names do you tend to make positive/negative associations with?

"Emily/Emma - super introverted which is not necessarily a bad thing from a classroom management perspective. But they are so quiet, they almost have no self-advocacy skills and never ask questions or help. They tend to be pushed around and followers. Not academically strong. Nice quiet kid though.

"Jonathan - super annoying and mouthy. Whenever there's a Jonathan in my class, I let out a loud sigh and mentally prepare myself for an annoying kid. Kyle - my husband has associated this name with the most annoying kid in his class. Mouthy. Can't sit still. Doesn't do anything in class. 'Sir are you mad at me?' every 10 mins every day."

Finally, she says any child with an "old biblical name like Elijah, Jeremiah, Joshua" is bound to cause problem after problem. She added: "They go to the washroom and return 30 mins later. Rarely gets any work done. Argumentative and does not follow rules."

Commenting on her post, one user said: "There's probably a crazy smart Britney out there. I haven't met her." Another user added: "I’ve never had a Jesus who has been anything except an agent of pure chaos. Javiers, however, have been a delight without exception." A third user said: "Tylers are always trouble. Neveahs are rarely heavenly. J names for boys are often issues too."
