CBSE Class 10 Result 2026 Second Board Exam Live Updates: CBSE to follow 40:60 evaluation formula for private Class 12 students in the gulf
The Centre informed the Supreme Court that the CBSE has come up with a new policy for the evaluation of private students, who were affected by the cancellation of the Class 12 board examination in Gulf countries due to the recent Iran-US war.
A bench of Justices S V N Bhatti and Vipul M Pancholi was told by Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, appearing for the Centre and the CBSE, that a fresh all-India policy has been framed to address the concerns of similarly situated students affected by the cancellation of examinations in the Gulf countries due to the regional conflict.
Mehta said that under the new policy, which was notified on June 21, a distinct formula for evaluating the private students appearing for the board exam was developed.
Giving details, Mehta said for the subjects for which examination could not be held, the performance will be assessed based on the marks obtained by the private candidate in Class 10 and the last-attempted Class 12 board examination.

CBSE Class 10 Result 2026 Second Board Exam Live Updates: Why CBSE Class 12 re-evaluation not bringing relief to students
While Ranchi girl Avni Kejriwal marks increased to 500 after applying for re-evaluation, many CBSE Class 12 are still facing trouble. For weeks, the Central Board of Secondary Education has been trying to put a troubled exam season behind it. It hasn’t quite managed to do that. At the centre of the controversy once again is Class 12 student Vedant Shrivastava, whose case first brought national attention to concerns surrounding the CBSE re-evaluation process. Weeks after applying for a review of his Physics board examination paper, Vedant says he is still awaiting his re-evaluation result, despite the board indicating that most revised results have already been declared.
“Many students, including me, have still not received our CBSE re-evaluation results despite the board announcing that most results have been released,” he shared over social media.
Vedant had earlier become the face of a controversy that snowballed into one of the most discussed CBSE issues in recent years. When he sought a copy of his Physics answer script during the review process, the answer sheet he received was not his own. It was mix-up, later admitted by the board, with that of another student. After he shared the issue online, hundreds of students began posting similar complaints, alleging discrepancies in marks, unawarded answers, and answer-sheet mix-ups.
