Two Wintec campuses evacuated after security threat

Two Wintec campuses have been evacuated in Hamilton after receiving a security threat.

Wintec said police have been notified.

"As a precaution, we are closing all Wintec campus sites and have notified students and staff to leave campus buildings promptly and calmly."

A spokesperson said security staff were carrying out a sweep of the campuses where about 5000 students are enrolled.

Police are investigating a spate of threats that triggered evacuations at multiple locations across the country in recent weeks.
