Man trapped inside car, crash closes Nelson Bay Road
by Jessica Brown · Newcastle HeraldOne person remains trapped inside their car after a crash between two vehicles and a truck at Salt Ash on Thursday.
Emergency services were called to Nelson Bay Road near Marsh Road just after 10am on July 23.
A spokesperson for NSW Ambulance said paramedics, an intensive care team and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter have been sent to the crash site.
Several drivers have declined medical treatment at the scene.

It is understood first responders were working to free a man in his 20s from one of the cars involved in the incident. Early reports suggest he has suffered leg injuries in the crash. He is expected to be extricated from the vehicle and taken to John Hunter Hospital for further treatment.
Emergency crews have closed the road in both directions. Drivers should expect delays and delay travel. Heavy traffic conditions have been reported in the area.
