The actress and Purity Okojie, her daughter, were recently introduced as ambassadors for the brand during its launch campaign.
The menstrual care package was described as an all-in-one period care pack designed for girls aged nine and above.
The product launch has since triggered backlash on social media, with many Nigerians questioning the affordability of the menstrual kit amid the country’s harsh economic realities.

Several users argued that the reported N25,000 price tag makes the product inaccessible to the average Nigerian girl, particularly at a time when many struggle to afford basic necessities.
Some others described the campaign as tone-deaf, citing the growing concerns that millions of women and girls lack access to safe and affordable sanitary products in Nigeria.
Others, however, argued that the content of the package is worth the price tag.

“Nigerian celebrities can be so out of touch when they jump into business ventures. Who exactly was Mercy Johnson aiming to sell those N25,000 sanitary pads to?” a X user wrote.
“I’m not even a fan of Mercy Johnson but surely y’all can see she created that period care box with her daughter and girls of that age, in mind. Y’all haven’t met young girls entering puberty and it shows with these comments,” another X user added.
“Mercy Johnson should stop with that fooling, if she’s really serious about helping the girl child and making efforts to end period poverty in Nigeria she should donate those pads,” a X user wrote.
