Model Jang Yoon Ju shares candid stories about her underwear obsession during modeling days

On May 2, a video titled “You should have at least one when dating. Jang Yoon Joo’s underwear chronology” was uploaded to her YouTube channel Yoonjour Jang Yoon Ju.
In the video, Jang Yoon Ju reflected on her twenties, saying, “I was very particular about underwear.” She explained, “When you work as a model, you really start hating visible underwear lines. That naturally led me to look for underwear that fit my body perfectly.” She added that during overseas trips, she would “spend an entire day in the underwear section, trying things on and carefully choosing what to buy.”
She also shared a very practical story about thongs, saying, “At that time (back in the 90s), it was hard to find thongs in Korea. For models, they were basically essential items, so I always had to carry them with me.”
Jang Yoon Ju continued, “There were days when I forgot to bring them, so I had to borrow them from other models. It’s like asking, ‘Do you happen to have a panty liner?’ It’s exactly that kind of situation. It’s like asking for a pad.” She added with a laugh, “I’ve borrowed them, worn them, and later bought new ones to replace them, or sometimes I just went on without them.”
She also spoke openly about waxing. “Back then, there were almost no waxing salons, so I shaved myself with a razor,” she said. “It hurt so much afterward—it was really painful.”
Meanwhile, Jang Yoon Ju, who debuted in 1997 and is often called the “textbook of runway walking,” has established herself as one of Korea’s top models and continues to be active across various TV programs and content.
