Japanese top model Yano Shiho became emotional as she spoke about the changes her husband, Choo Sung Hoon, went through following the death of his father.

On May 7, KBS2’s variety show 'Fun-Staurant' uploaded a video titled, “Shiho’s Tears. Choo Sung Hoon Completely Changed After His Father Passed Away Three Years Ago,” on its official channel. During filming in April, Yano Shiho reflected on her late father-in-law, the late Choo Gye Yi, who suddenly passed away from cardiac arrest in April 2023.

She shared, “April is a meaningful month for our family because it’s the month my father-in-law passed away,” adding, “He was someone who quietly stayed by our side. I always felt like he cared for us. I could always feel his love.”

Recalling the sudden loss, she explained, “He passed away unexpectedly. We got a call saying he had collapsed while playing golf, so we immediately flew to the hospital, but he had already passed away by then. By the time everyone arrived at the hospital, he was already gone.” She added, “It must have been a huge shock for Choo Sung Hoon as well.”

According to Yano Shiho, the loss became a major turning point in her husband’s life. She said, “I think the news of his father’s death became a huge turning point for the current version of Choo Sung Hoon. Before, he had his own stubborn ways and would say, ‘You can’t do it like that,’ but now everything is ‘yes.’ He seems to accept everything now, and he has become more positive in every aspect.”

After letting go of his stubbornness, Choo Sung Hoon is now enjoying what many call a second peak in his career.

Watching her husband’s recent success, Yano Shiho eventually broke down in tears, saying, “Everything is okay now. He’s done it all.” Her tears reflected the complicated emotions of relief and sorrow as she watched her husband overcome the pain of losing his father and emerge as a more flexible and open person in the public eye.
