Simon D recently revealed a story of how he coincidentally caught the suspect who stole his luxury watch worth hundreds of thousands of dollars.

On July 2, a video titled "A Day in the Life of Simon Dominic" was uploaded to the YouTube channel Life84, where webtoon artist Kian84 visited the rapper's home and the two reminisced about their longtime friendship.

During the conversation, Kian84 jokingly asked Simon D to show him his expensive watches. He explained, "The expensive ones are in a safe. And I'm not telling anyone where the safe is."

He then explained the reason behind his caution. "A thief broke into my house," he said. "They stole my fully diamond-encrusted watch and later consigned it to a watch shop that I frequently visit."

A Coincidental Discovery Led to the Thief's Arrest

Simon D said the stolen watch was recovered thanks to a remarkable coincidence.

"A friend of mine, who owns the exact same watch, went to that watch shop to buy another watch and spotted mine," he recalled. "When I went there and tried it on, it fit my wrist perfectly. The bracelet hadn't even been adjusted because it was already customized to my wrist size."

Recognizing it as his own, Simon D immediately contacted the police.

"At 10 AM on Christmas Eve, I went to the watch shop with detectives and checked the CCTV footage," he said. "The thief had left behind a copy of their ID when they consigned the watch, so they were caught almost immediately."

Although he recovered the timepiece, Simon D said he decided not to keep it. "Since it had been stolen, it just didn't feel right anymore, so I sold it right away," he explained.

Home Burglary Changed His Approach to Privacy

After hearing the story, Kian84 expressed relief that the watch had been recovered but also voiced concern about the dangers of home invasions.

"It must be terrifying if someone breaks into your house," Kian84 said. "What if you ran into them and they had a knife?"

Simon D admitted the incident permanently changed how he handles his privacy.

"That's why I don't film inside my house anymore," he said, explaining that he no longer feels comfortable exposing his living space to the public.

Growing Concerns Over Celebrity Home Security

Simon D's experience has reignited concerns over the security risks celebrities face when their homes are featured on television and YouTube.

As reality shows and online content increasingly showcase celebrities' residences, details such as floor plans, valuable collections, and even the locations of safes can become visible, potentially making them targets for burglary or stalking.

Several high-profile celebrities have previously fallen victim to home burglaries while away, and experts have warned that the rise of social media—where public figures often share their locations in real time—has only increased those risks.

Even homes with strong security systems can become vulnerable if information about their layout or valuable possessions becomes publicly available.

Many argue that while celebrities may accept a certain level of public exposure, the security of their homes should remain protected. Industry observers have also called on television and digital content producers to take greater care to avoid revealing sensitive security details when filming inside private residences.

Meanwhile, the Patek Philippe Nautilus 5719 model that Simon D referenced is currently valued at approximately 500,000 USD to 860,000 USD on the global luxury watch and resale markets, equivalent to roughly 770 million to 1.327 billion KRW (about 500,000–860,000 USD, depending on market conditions).
