tvN's beloved reality variety program 'Gugidong Friends' has officially been confirmed for a second season, following the triumphant conclusion of its first run on June 12.

The show, which explored the lives of adults who cherish solitude yet crave companionship, featured an all-star cast including Jang Do Yeon, Lee Da Hee, Choi Daniel, Jang Keun Suk, Ahn Jae Hyun, and Kyung Soo Jin. Their unique cohabitation experiment, dubbed 'dong-sa-chin' (cohabiting friends), delivered sitcom-like entertainment while offering a fresh take on the modern '1.5-person household' trend.

According to Joynews24, 'Gugidong Friends' has racked up a staggering 560 million digital views across YouTube and Instagram. The show ranked first among all new tvN variety programs that concluded this year and secured the second spot in TV topicality for non-drama programs. Its cast members also consistently appeared in individual topicality rankings, cementing the show's cultural impact.

"We tried to comfortably show the real appearance of friends living together. We are proud that viewers sympathized with and enjoyed the new form of residential structure," the production team shared.
