The $699 record low price on the standard 13-inch MacBook Air M2 is courtesy of Amazon when ordered in the Space Gray finish.
This particular configuration has Apple's M2 chip with an 8-core GPU, along with 8GB unified memory and 256GB storage. Considering the M3 model is on sale for $899, the M2 model is especially attractive for the budget-conscious consumer. It's also only $50 more than M1 MacBook Air sold at Walmart that features the discontinued wedge-shaped design.
