Vidya Balan is one of the most versatile actresses in Bollywood. She has performed fantastically in varied genres, playing various characters. From Parineeta to Shakuntala Devi, she has ace in every project that she has touched. One of the most iconic characters that she has played is that of Monjulika in Bhool Bhulaiyaa. The franchise has become a massive hit. Now, fans are all charged up for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 that stars Kartik Aaryan in leading role. Vidya Balan had skipped the second instalment of the franchise but she is now returning to it with the third.

Why did Vidya Balan reject Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2?

Why did Vidya Balan give Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 a miss? Everyone had this question on mind. The actress revealed the reason in her latest interview. As per a report in entertainment news section of Hindustan Times, Vidya Balan shared that she was scared to be a part of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 as the first part had given her so much. So had something gone wrong with the second instalment, everything would have gone in vain, she said. Thus, she did not want to take any risk. About her return to Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, she said, "But when they came back to me with the third part, I loved the script. I was dying to work on this with Anees bhai and Bhushan. And then it only kept getting better."

Bhool Bhulaiyaa starring Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan and Shiney Ahuja had released in 2007. More than horror, it was a psychological drama. It was about a woman who develops interest in the story of legend Monjulika and she believes that she is the one. It was a massive hit as it had a great blend of comedy, thrill and drama. The second instalment introduced Kartik Aaryan as Rooh Baba. He then deals with the spirit of the evil twin's sister. Tabu plays the ghost in this one. In the third one, Vidya Balan is returning as Monjulika. But she is not alone. Madhuri Dixit is also going to give her company.
