SJU hosts Tekne Fest 2024

Dimapur, September 20: The Department of Computer Science at St. Joseph University hosted Tekne Fest 2024, a 2-day event aimed at celebrating technology and innovation. The festival successfully brought together students, faculty, and guests for a series of engaging activities and competitions.

The inaugural ceremony welcomed a host of guests, including Vice Chancellor Prof.Dr. D. Gnanadurai, Registrar Dr. A. Robert Xavier, Deputy Registrar Sr. Thianes, Controller of Examination Dr. S. Thiyagarajan, and Dean of Science Dr. K. Rajaganesh.

Dr. S. Thiyagarajan shared insights into the world of debugging in computer programming and online gaming, emphasizing their interconnectedness and the essential logic required for both fields. He highlighted the importance of developing skills in these areas as critical to students’ future success.

In his address, Dr. Robert underscored the value of such events in nurturing creativity and collaboration among students.

Vice Chancellor Dr.Gnanadurai urged attendees to dedicate 3 to 4 hours each day to programming practice, advocating for practical engagement over theoretical study.

The second day of Tekne Fest kicked off with a painting competition themed “Art Meets Technology,” celebrating the fusion of creativity and innovation. Other events included meme making, video making, typing tests, arm wrestling, and an exhibition of static models, drawing enthusiastic participation from students eager to showcase their skills.

In the valedictory programme Dean Dr. K. Rajaganesh delivered the valedictory address, reflecting on the festival’s successes and the spirit of innovation it fostered. Prizes were announced and distributed, celebrating the accomplishments of the participants.
