India is a diverse heterogeneous land
· Nagaland PageDear Madam,
Even if several researches reflect that more than 60% of the respondents are of the view that “Hinduism” and “being able to speak Hindi” form the most essential constituent of being “true Indian”; still such unique theory can never pass the litmus test of “nationalism” as truth resides above all.
Yes, the ultimate truth remains that India is a diverse heterogeneous land since centuries with the independent democratic nation acknowledging it through its Constitution which flies the flag of Secularism Equality and Diversity, thereby placing each and every Indian upon the same pedestal of honour rights and dignity.
So neither is any Parsi individual a bit inferior than the staunchest “proud” Hindu nor the language of any tribal community an iota lesser than Hindi. In this perspective, how can anybody dare to express audacity to claim that to be a “true Indian”, being born as a Hindi-speaking Hindu or at least acceptance of Hindutva and getting enlightened of Hindi is must! Those who shamelessly flex their linguistic and religious muscle in this vulgar manner must be urgently taught about the history legacy diverse culture of this ancient land along with it’s Constitution!
