A Short Prayer To Ask God For Rest When Burnout Has Hollowed You

After working so tirelessly, it makes sense that burnout has consumed you. Here is a prayer to ask God for restoration on the days you feel hollowed by burnout.
Dear God, when I’m tired of trying, let me rest in your peace. Because there are days when you reach the end of your strength — days when you have done everything you know to do, days when you have prayed every prayer you can think of, days where you still feel hollowed out, where you still feel worn thin. You hold so much, you push through what feels like an endless ache, and somewhere along the way the pressure to keep going starts to outweigh the energy you have left. That is the moment God meets you — not with more to carry, but with permission to rest.
Rest isn’t giving up. It is handing God the pieces you have been holding too tightly. It is remembering that you don’t have to hold everything together for him to hold you. It is letting go of the voice in your head that says you need to be stronger, or faster, or better — and letting his presence quiet the noise.
When you are tired of trying, God isn’t asking you to push harder. He is asking you to lean in. He is asking you to breathe, to trust that you are safe even when you are still, to remember that his peace arrives exactly when your strength runs out.
Let his presence be the place your heart exhales.
Let his arms be the rest you have been needing.
And let his love remind you that you don’t have to have it all together to be held.
