The FTC is preparing formal demands for information from OpenAI, Anthropic and other AI labs as it examines potential consumer risks from their technology, the New York Post reported Wednesday, citing administration officials. The demands would be similar to subpoenas.
Reuters said it couldn’t independently verify the report. The FTC, OpenAI and Anthropic hadn’t responded to Reuters’ requests for comment when it published its story on September 30.
