Upcoming Xiaomi 17T Series phones to feature Leica Live Moment, other upgrades 

XIAOMI Corp. is bringing motion to photos via Leica Live Moment, a key feature of the Xiaomi 17T Series smartphones launching globally on May 28 and in the Philippines on May 29.

The Xiaomi 17T Series features a Leica 5x telephoto camera across the lineup and Leica Live Moment. This marks the next step in the collaboration between the two brands, which  is  now entering its fifth year, focused on exploring new possibilities in storytelling via mobile phones.

The new phones will also  come  with various upgrades like an enhanced eye-care display and a larger battery capacity.

“As Xiaomi and Leica continue to push mobile imaging forward and narrow the gap between smartphones and traditional cameras, the focus is no longer on how close mobile photography can get to traditional cameras, but on how it can move beyond them,” Xiaomi said.

“Part of  the motivation  for this evolution is the shift in the way people themselves are using their phones to capture their most important moments. A single photo freezes time. The companies said they see dynamic images  as a way to  preserve emotion and stories beyond a single frozen frame.

“With this feature, you can capture not only what happened, but how it felt. By treating movement as part of the storytelling — not just an afterthought — Leica Live Moment adds continuity, emotion, and context to everyday images.”

Leica’s signature aesthetic is also applied across the rear camera system on  the Xiaomi  17T Series for that familiar and classic look.

“Offered in Portrait mode with Leica Live Portrait, this adds a natural bokeh effect to these dynamic moments, allowing expressions and subtle movements to shine through naturally,” it added.
