Leica Teams Up with Automotive Photographer Calvin Courjon for Solo Exhibition
In addition to an interactive workshop where guests can learn to elevate their passion or turn it into a business.

In addition to this, the two are hosting a workshop to teach other passionate photographers how to elevate their craft or even turn it into a sustainable business. To learn more about his path and how the partnership came to be, Hypebeast spoke with the creative.
At just 25 years old, Courjon has carved a niche for himself as one of the most capable photographers in the automotive and travel realms. His work blends the rarest cars with breathtaking landscapes, with an aim at creating imagery that celebrates motion, luxury and the stories behind the vehicles.
His fascination with cars began at the age of 10 — initially, he used photography as a way to document the stunning vehicles he encountered on the streets like any other enthusiast. Over time, this hobby grew into a full-blown passion. By 14, he was chasing rides in the passenger seat. At 18, he was behind the wheel. And now, with his career firmly established, Courjon even owns the cars he once dreamt of photographing, including most recently a Porsche 911 997 GT3 RS.
However, Courjon’s love for photography extends beyond cars. Over the years, he has developed a deep appreciation for the art form, drawing inspiration from the works of 20th-century photographic legends. “When I started to educate myself about the history of this art, my passion went through the roof,” he shares. Today, he travels the world, not just to shoot cars but to capture people, culture and landscapes.
Notably, Courjon’s transition from hobbyist to professional was organic. At 15, people began paying him for his photos as a token of appreciation. By 16, a client inquired about his day rate, solidifying photography as his career path. At 18, Courjon officially launched his business, using his earnings to travel, meet new people and grow his portfolio.
“I love what I do,” he shared, adding “I was doing it for free but being paid makes it even better!” His efforts, from networking to maintaining a strong presence on social platforms, have played a significant role in his success. For Courjon, cars are more than a bit of rubber, metal and an engine — they’re living entities — a belief that fuels his passion for the automotive scene. “There’s something about a car,” he explains. “When I’m with cars, I’m in my element.”
Where it all comes full circle is his love for Leica cameras, Courjon shares that it’s the rich history and unmatched quality that draws him to the brand. His partnership with Leica Singapore recently culminated in an exhibition titled Driving Places, celebrating the intersection of extraordinary cars and landscapes. While the exhibition has come to a close, the two are offering a limited-capacity workshop that will take aspiring enthusiasts’ automotive photography skills to the next level.

For those who can’t make it, Courjon shares a word of advice, noting that passion is key. “Do it at 200 percent, because most people won’t.” By focusing on building skills, networking and staying active, he assures that success will follow.
