PORTER has launched “Bounce,” a new bag series engineered around a triaxial woven fabric that sets it apart from the label’s usual construction. The textile crosses thread in three directions, vertical, horizontal and diagonal, and PORTER has built the series to draw the maximum functional benefit from that structure.

The fabric is the entire story here. Triaxial weaving produces a lattice of linked regular hexagons, the same geometry that recurs throughout nature in honeycomb, tortoise shells and the retina of the human eye, and which reads as a kind of universal functional beauty. PORTER positions the material as the world’s only textile realization of that hexagonal structure, made possible through advanced production technology.
