Vacheron Constantin Introduces a Lighter Shade of Blue to the Overseas

The 41.5mm white gold watch debuts a lighter azure dial, powered by the ultra-thin Calibre 1120 QP/1, which measures 4.05mm and runs until 2100.
Vacheron Constantin is marking the 30th anniversary of its Overseas collection with a new Overseas Perpetual Calendar Ultra-Thin, pairing an 18K white gold case with a newly developed azure dial for the first time. Limited to 200 pieces, the anniversary edition builds on a collection first introduced in 1996 as the successor to the Maison’s sport-chic 222, before evolving through subsequent generations in 2004 and 2016. The current Overseas design retains signatures including its Maltese cross-inspired notched bezel and integrated bracelet, while its tool-free interchangeable strap system reinforces the collection’s longstanding emphasis on travel and versatility.
Spotlighted at the heart of its dial is a lighter interpretation of Vacheron Constantin’s signature blue. Described as less intense and less saturated than the azure tone first introduced to the collection in 2016, the lacquered dial shifts in appearance according to the light and is paired with a matching blue moon-phase display. White gold hands, markers and calendar indications add contrast without disrupting the monochromatic composition, while blue Super-LumiNova accents aid nighttime legibility. The 41.5mm white gold case measures just 8.1mm thick, and arrives on an integrated white gold bracelet alongside interchangeable white and denim-blue rubber straps, all of which can be changed without tools.
Powering the watch is the Maison’s self-winding Calibre 1120 QP/1, an ultra-thin 4.05mm movement comprising 276 components and offering approximately 40 hours of power reserve. Its perpetual calendar tracks the date, day, month and leap-year cycle alongside moon phases, automatically accounting for differing month lengths and leap years without requiring correction until 2100. Visible through the sapphire caseback, the Geneva Seal-certified movement features Côtes de Genève, bevelling, perlage and satin-finishing, complemented by a 22K gold rotor engraved with the Overseas compass rose.
