Merrell 1TRL has released the Cham Pack for SS26. The pack pairs two interpretations of the Cham Redux, the silhouette introduced in SS25 that has since become a cornerstone of the 1TRL line, with the original model landing in Comet and Casper colorways and the new Cham Redux Sieve offering a summer-specific evolution of the same design brief.
The Cham Redux’s construction is built around a deliberate tension between heritage reference and contemporary function. Plush suede overlays sit atop a 2 Tone Torn Camo mesh upper, with the mesh carrying intricately detailed motifs that reference traditional lacework while maintaining the breathability required for warm weather wear. The lacework reference gives the construction an unexpected formal quality that counters the outdoor performance materials around it, which is consistent with Merrell 1TRL’s stated philosophy of melding luxury and functionality. The toggle lace system handles closure, providing ease of on and off alongside a secure fit, while a molded TPU heel counter adds structural stability at the rear of the shoe. Underfoot, FloatMax Foam delivers the midsole cushioning for all-day wear, and a sticky outsole ensures reliable traction across varied terrain.
The Cham Redux Sieve takes the same visual DNA into a summer construction by swapping materials and fastening. The mesh detailing that defines the Redux’s upper appears here in a supporting role, with leather and neoprene forming the primary upper structure. Neoprene’s lightweight, water-resistant properties make it a logical choice for a summer evolution of an outdoor silhouette, and its flexibility suits the strap fastening the Sieve uses in place of the Redux’s toggle lace system. The strap provides over-foot support and security with a quicker entry and exit than a lace or toggle arrangement, reinforcing the Sieve’s positioning as the pack’s warm-weather, lower-barrier option.
The Cham Redux’s arrival as a pack cornerstone one year after its SS25 introduction reflects the pace at which Merrell 1TRL builds its silhouette library. Rather than retiring an introduction after a single season, the line extends it through seasonal colorways and material evolutions that keep the original design logic intact while making it appropriate for new contexts. The Comet and Casper colorways for SS26 sit within the Cham Redux’s core seasonal palette, and the Sieve’s summer adaptation means the pack can function across a broader range of conditions than either model could address alone.
