Birkenstock and JOURNAL STANDARD introduce two exclusive cold-weather styles, bringing the Loma and Solana together in a shared “Cork Brown” treatment.
The Loma takes the more enclosed approach, pairing a rounded closed toe with a broad suede strap across the instep, while the Solana opens up the forefoot with a wide single-strap construction for a more relaxed slide profile. Across both, the warm caramel-brown suede has a softly brushed, matte finish that gives the shoes a slightly lived-in character, with subtle tonal variation across the nap. The monochrome treatment keeps stitching and edge details understated, while the dark outsole creates a slim visual break beneath the otherwise earthy upper.
The seasonal release is defined most clearly by its plush lamb-wool lining, which fills the footbed and wraps around the interior edges in a deeper, fuzzy brown tone. That contrast between the smooth suede exterior and dense shearling-like interior gives both silhouettes a warmer, more tactile presence without dramatically changing their minimal Birkenstock shapes. The Loma’s extra coverage makes the treatment feel closer to a winter clog, while the Solana retains more of the ease and openness of a traditional sandal. Both JOURNAL STANDARD-exclusive models are available for pre-order now in Japan, with deliveries scheduled to begin in mid-November 2026.
